Donor Details

Donor Notes

Permanent Donor notes are displayed next to the +Add button on the Donation record. These notes are populated from the Notes field on the Donor record in the Platform. This is a good place to put details that might help data entry.

For example, "Bob has an adult son Bobby who lives with them. Ensure the right Bob is credited" or "Sandy always forgets to mark that she wants $50 to go to the Building Fund."

Donation Notes (Memo)

Donation notes are specific to the Donation and are added using the Memo field located under the Amount on the Donation record. These notes are a great way to make note of something without slowing down processing. These notes are saved in the Donation record in the Platform. The Selected Batch Notes report can be run after processing for follow up or updates.

For example, "Possible New Address: 123 Main St, Central, MO" or "Memo mentioned Pledge, but Donor has no Pledges set up."

You can view donation notes that you have created in the memo field by creating a Page View on the donations page or by using the Selected Batch Notes report for the Batches page.

Donor History

To see Donor history in order to assist in assigning or distributing a Donation, Donor history (dates, amount, and/or programs) can be seen by clicking the icon in the "Dist" (Distributed) field of the Donation record. History will display the past 5 Donations, including Distribution details and Item Number, excluding those in a Batch not yet finalized. Note that visibility of this icon and/or the related Donor history can be controlled by the DonorHistoryVisibility Configuration Setting.
