At any time, a donor can cancel a recurring ARB subscription by going to the My Giving page of the Portal. When the donor does so, the ARB is canceled in Authorize.NET and future un-batched donations are deleted from MinistryPlatform.
Should a donor contact the church office and request a change to the online donation, that donor should be instructed to cancel their current recurring donation and create a new one. This can be accomplished by the donor logging into their My Giving page and clicking Cancel. They can then go to the Online Giving page and setup a new recurring gift.
You may send the donor a link from the Donors page or from the Donations page that automatically takes the donor to the My Giving page. This link can bypass the Portal’s authentication, thus simplifying the donor’s task.
Sending the Donor a Link to My Giving:
Create a message with instructions for the donor and add the My Giving snippet. If desired, you can hold the CTRL key while clicking the link to allow you to access the donor's Portal account and cancel the recurring gift for them.
Alternatively, a staff person with appropriate rights can use the Impersonate Portal User tool tool to allow a staff member to view the donor's Portal account and cancel the giving for them.
