Contacts - Apple iOS

Upon opening a Contact record in MP Mobile, you will see (if available):

  • Picture
  • Last Name, First Name
  • Gender (Age)
  • Participant Type
  • Household Position
  • Contact Status
  • Bookmark option

Photo

To add or edit the Contact photo:

  1. Tap the photo circle.
  2. Tap Edit Photo.
  3. Choose the desired Photo Option
    1. From Gallery: From photos on your device
    2. Take Photo: Using your device camera
  4. Select or take the photo.

The new photo will be saved/stored in MinistryPlatform as an attachment on the Contact record.

Text & Phone Call

If available, a Home Phone and Mobile Phone will be listed for the Contact.

Send a Text

To send a text message to the Contact:

  1. Tap the Text icon.
  2. Tap the desired option to use to send the text via:
    1. Your cell (mobile device)
      • For the text to successfully send from your cell or mobile device, the device must have texting capabilities.
      • The text received will be "from" your cell or mobile device number.
      • Replies to the text will come to your cell or mobile device number. Replies are not logged in the Platform.
    2. Or, the Platform:
      • For the text to successfully send from the Platform, the Platform must be configured for texting. Rights to the Text Message Tool in the Platform are not required for a User to use this feature in MP Mobile.
      • The text received will be "from" your Twilio account number.
      • Replies to the text are not supported by the Twilio integration.
  3. Enter your text message contents.
  4. Tap the Send icon.
  5. The Contact Log record created in the Platform will appear. The Contact Log Notes field will say "Sent text message" but will not include the contents of the text message.
  6. Optional: Make any edits or additions desired.Tap the Save icon to save changes.
Make a Phone Call

To make a phone call to the Contact:

  1. Tap the Phone icon. 
  2. If both are available, tap the desired phone number (mobile or home) to call.
    • For the phone call to successfully connect from your cell or mobile device, the device must have phone capabilities.
  3. The Contact Log record created in the Platform will appear. The Contact Log Notes field will say "Called" but will not include the contents of the phone call.
  4. Optional: Make any edits or additions desired.Tap the Send icon to save changes.

Map

If available, an Address will be listed for the Contact. To see the address on Google Maps, tap the Map icon.

Email

If available, an email will be listed for the Contact. To send an email to the Contact:

  1. Tap the Email icon.
  2. Enter a Subject.
  3. Enter your email content.
  4. Tap the Send Icon.
    • Emails are sent from MP Mobile via the Platform, not your mobile device.
    • The email received will be "from" the email address on your Contact record in the Platform associated with your User account.
    • Replies to the email will come to the email address on your Contact record in the Platform associated with your User account. Replies are not logged in the Platform.
  5. The Contact Log record created in the Platform will appear. The Contact Log Notes field will say "Sent email" but will not include the contents of the email. The Contact Log Type will be E-mail (ID 5).
  6. Optional: Make any edits or additions desired. Tap the Save icon to save changes.

Milestones

If available, the count of Milestones assigned to the Contact will be listed. To see details:

  1. Tap the Milestones bar.
  2. Review the list of Milestones assigned.
  3. Milestones will list the Date Accomplished.
  4. Tap on a specific Milestone to see the Milestone Description.
Milestone Icons

Each Milestone can have a customized icon for display in MP Mobile. For example, a Baptism Milestone can have an icon of a water drop or a Salvation Milestone can have an icon of a cross. A SPoC can customize these icons in the Platform by:

  1. Go to the IcoFont library.
  2. Find the desired icon.
  3. Click on the icon.
  4. Note the 4 digit "Hex" code (e.g. the BBQ icon is Hex = ec2c).
  5. From the Platform, open the Milestone record.
  6. Click Edit.
  7. In the Icon field, enter the 4 digit "Hex" code.
  8. Click Save.

Contact Log

These values pre-populate the Contact Log form:

Email:

  1. Contact Log Type = Email
  2. Date = Now
  3. Made By = Current User
  4. Entry = Send an Email

Phone:

  1. Contact Log Type = Phone
  2. Date = Now
  3. Made By = Current User
  4. Entry = Made a Phone Call

Text:

  1. Contact Log Type = Text
  2. Date = Now
  3. Made By = Current User
  4. Entry = Sent a Text

To view Contact Log entries:

  1. Tap Contact Log bar.
  2. Review the list of Contact Log entrie (showing who made the Contact, the date of contact and the type of contact)
  3. Tap on a specific Contact Log to see the Contact Log notes.
     

To manually add a Contact Log entry (e.g. after an in-person conversation):

  1. Tap the Add contact log button at the bottom of the Contact record.
  2. Select a Contact Log type.
  3. Select a date (if different than today)
  4. Enter your Contact Log content.
  5. Tap the Save icon in the upper right hand corner to save.
