Checking In

When doing a big event there are a few special considerations for an excellent check-in experience:
  • Recruit a couple of folks to help during the event who have experience with Check-in. They can guide inexperienced team members with minimal training.
  • Determine where to locate check-in stations and how many are attended versus unattended.
  • You may need additional check-in stations for your big event. Remember, any laptop will do!
  • You need to configure and test a printer to work with any new stations in advance of the event.
  • If you want to allow people to register/pay at the door, you should make sure someone knows how to use the Add/Edit Family functionality of the check-in system to register people who arrive for the event.
  • Check to ensure each printer has an adequate supply of labels
  • Volunteers at your event can also check-in.  Their ability to check-in on their own from an unattended station will depend on whether you did one of two things:
    1. Registered the person for the event.
    2. Added them to a group that you then associated with the event.
