Platform - December 2022

 

December's Platform release is filled with features and enhancements to make the Platform work for you, including Task approval by User Groups, message approval if a User attempts to send a message to more users than allowed by their quota, and enhancing the Send to Me option so tokens are rendered to allow for a complete review. We also added the option to change Field Labels and if you have a Catholic system, we've updated some Field Labels for you. There are other enhancements and fixes, so check them out!

Please Note: While testing and support for the legacy UI officially ended in September 2022, you'll still be able to access your "/ministryplatform" URL through February 2023. After that, your legacy URL will be redirected to the Next Generation of the Platform.

  • *NEW* Added a URL field type for consistent formatting and hyperlinking throughout the Platform.
  • Enhanced the Send to Me option in the New Message Tool so that the tokens will be merged based on the first record in the selection when the preview copy is sent to the Sender.
  • Enhanced Calendar Layout so Users can "Select All" (or "Unselect All") for the individual category checkboxes.
  • Enhanced the User Interface so the cursor goes directly to the search field when you arrive on a page.
  • Enhanced Export so that Users can select an Export Name to differentiate between exported files at a glance.
  • Enhanced the Events in a series display so that canceled events are displayed with a strike-through.
  • Enhanced the Mass Assign dialogue to include a summary of what will be updated for each field.

Tasks & Tools

  • *NEW* Added an Exceed Messaging Quota Process so Users can get approval when they attempt to send a message to more than allowed by their message quota. Note: We've added the process, but we'll leave it up to you to turn it on. You can read all about how to make that happen here.
  • *NEW* Enhanced Tasks so that they can be assigned to an individual User or a User Group.
  • *NEW* Enhanced Tasks views so Users can filter by both Complete/Hidden or Incomplete and Created by Me or Assigned to Me. Want to level up? Set a notification for the Complete/Hidden and Created by Me view to get notified when others have completed the tasks you assigned to them.
  • *NEW* Enhanced Task notification emails so that Users can complete tasks from their email with the click of a link. That's right! Click the link in an email = task checked off the to-do list.
  • Fixed an issue where Notes disappeared from the Tasks tab after navigating to a different tab and back to Tasks.
  • Fixed an issue where attempting to run a Process returned an error.

Address Validation

  • Enhanced the Melissa Data Notification of Change of Address Task Description by adding line breaks between each address.
  • Enhanced the Melissa Data Notification of Change of Address Task Description to include Melissa Data result codes corresponding to the Notification of Change of Address type.
  • Enhanced Melissa Data Notification of Change of Address so that Do Not Validate is set to True for any address that triggers a notification.
  • Enhanced the Notification of Change of Address Task Description to include the Company Name if the Last Name is not provided.
  • Enhanced the task assigned to the Address Change Task User when a foreign address or no new address is provided for clarity.

Exporting

  • Enhanced Export so that the view columns are exported when a User selects "Current View" when exporting.

Schema

  • *NEW* Updated Field Labels in Catholic-identified systems. And while we've made changes to Catholic systems, any church can update Field Labels so you can do YOUR Church YOUR way. And if you don't want to see these updates, simply delete the relevant Field Management record. If you have a Catholic system, here's what you can expect to see:
    • Parish (instead of Congregation)
    • Family (instead of Household)
    • Member (instead of Participant)
  • Added a Compliance Facts view on the Compliance page with Record Facts.
  • Added a Qualifications Facts view on the Qualifications page with Record Facts.
  • Enhanced the Advanced Search Tool so Users can copy a View they have access to based on their User Group.
  • Enhanced the Delete dialogue to display the number of attached files included in the deletion.
  • Enhanced deleting so Users can delete records with circular references (nerd speak for when two records to be deleted reference each other).
  • Enhanced Field Management so the logged-in User's record can be configured as the default value for relevant from the User ID field. Use the Field Management process to get it set up in your system.
  • Updated the View Order for the Field Format Values page so it is displayed alphabetically in the System Lookups section.
  • Updated caching so that it is no longer necessary to reset the Platform agent when changes are made to the Domain record.
  • Updated the Stewardship page section name to Contributions in Catholic identified systems.
  • Updated available Lookup Values in Catholic-identified systems.
  • Updated the View Order for the Background Check Status page so it is displayed alphabetically in the System Lookups section.
  • Update schema so that Sacrament-related pages are visible in Catholic-identified systems and hidden in non-Catholic systems via Field Management. Want to see Sacarment-related fields in your system? Simply delete the relevant Field Management record.
  • Moved the Prayer & Feedback page under the Care section in Advanced navigation.
  • Fixed an issue where attaching a new default image to one Event in a series did not update the default image for the entire series, even when the User selected that option.
  • Fixed an issue where pasting a phone number into a Phone Number field did not follow the 3-3-4 phone number convention.
  • Fixed an issue where the Arizona Time Zone did not display correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where comparison search terms were retained in the Advanced Search Tool, even after one of the comparison values was changed.
  • Fixed an issue where non-numerical characters could be entered into integer fields when using Firefox.
  • Fixed an issue where pasting a phone number into a phone number field added the original number as an extension.

User Interface

  • Enhanced Application Label Records to support current and future features.
  • Enhanced Grid Layout and open records to include locale.
  • Updated the message displayed when a link has expired for clarity.
  • Standardized Task related icons for clarity.
  • Fixed an issue where Calendar View options did not reliably expand/retract on mobile.
  • Fixed an issue where font color styling was not honored in the Template Editor Tool.
  • Fixed an issue where additional line breaks were added when using Firefox.
  • Fixed an issue where HTML was not consistently rendered in Rich Text Fields.
